Kendrick opens his eyes. He hears alarms in the distance. There is an astronaut standing over him. In the dark glass of the astronaut's helmet, Kendrick can see only his own reflection. "Where am I?" he asks. "Near Mars," the astronaut replies. Kendrick looks around the shuttle, unsure if he is still dreaming. He appears to be the only passenger awake.
