Samsung Samsung will officially reveal the Galaxy Note20 on August 5th. On Wednesday, August 5th, Samsung is likely to reveal the long-expected Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra smartphones at a virtual event. Galaxy Unpacked 2020, as it's officially known, will begin at 10AM EST that morning, via a video live stream. A higher-efficiency 120Hz display panel, is rumored to debut on the super-premium Galaxy Note20 Ultra, while retaining, the line's signature digitizer stylus and large format screens. In addition, there have been months of rumblings, that a new-and-improved Snapdragon 865 Plus, along with an all-new Exynos chipset, would make their first appearance on the Note20 series. Android 11 Android 11 Beta 2 starts rolling out Quick Settings media controls. The feature was hidden at first, but it became an easily-accessible setting in Beta 1, and now it's enabled by default in Beta 2. When you're playing media on Android 11, the controls appear inside the Quick Settings panel above your notifications, instead of just appearing as another notification in the stack. Just like with earlier versions of Android, you can play, pause, and skip content without opening the app. The feature is a bit different on Beta 2 than on previous Android 11 releases. The controls now always appear below the Quick Settings tiles, instead of beside them, which caused the tiles to be squished. Hopefully, Google will keep working on this before Android 11's final public release. Intel Intel announces Thunderbolt 4 protocol, and new Thunderbolt Controllers, with USB4 compliance. Thunderbolt is a cross-platform data and power transfer standard, developed by Intel. The protocol is often found in laptops and PC, and can be used to connect DisplayPort-compatible devices including external monitors, as well as PCI Express Peripherals, including External Graphic Cards, Hard Drives, Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectors, over a USB type C port. The new protocol doubles down on the minimum video requirements as compared to the previous generation, and requires support for at least, two 4K monitors or a single, 8K monitor. GBoard Emoji G board is adding support for the new Android 11 emoji. Like almost any new Android version, Android 11 ships with a selection of new emoji. If you currently want to use them in texts and messages, you need to copy and paste them from resources like Emojipedia, but that's finally changing. The latest G board beta is adding initial support for the new Emoji 13, set on Android 11. This will almost certainly change before the emoji come to the stable release of G board. Now the main news! Samsung may not include an inn box charger with its future Galaxy phones. Now, a new report from South Korea claims that, future Samsung phones may not ship with a charger. Apple is also planning to ditch the charging adapter, from the box for its iPhone 12 series. The future iPhones are said to exclude the charger from inn box components. It looks like we are heading towards a future where we will get only phones in the box. It kind of makes sense too. Samsung ships hundreds of millions of smartphones every single year, and dropping a charger from even half of its Galaxy phones, could result in major cost reduction for the company. It could allow the company to price its affordable devices even more aggressively. As per the report, Samsung is discussing plans to exclude the charger from the box components for some smartphones. It doesn’t specify the name of the Galaxy phones, so it could be flagship as well as mid-range devices. Chances are, you already have a charging adapter at home and you might not need one with your new phone.
