Hello! And welcome to this quick introduction to Graphic Compare. Start by selecting Graphic Compare. Graphic Compare supports PDF files and Adobe Illustrator files. You can select the Source and Target files by browsing for them, or you can use drag-and-drop. The Source file is typically a reference file or the previous version. One or multiple Source files can be used. The Target file is the new artwork file. Usually, it’s a PDF. Press this button to see a preview of the file. Layers and colors can be switched on and off. Select the Graphic setting for the comparison. We will use the settings template Quick for this demo. The template Filter is used if, for example, one of the documents is an outlined PDF and the other one is not. You can select the area for the comparison by choosing a template in the dropdown list or by selecting the area manually on the next page. Here we have the Source file to the left, and the Target file to the right. You can use the New selection tool or use the predefined selection templates. We’ll use the template 'Select all' for the Target page. If the files consists of several page, which does not apply in this case, you can add the selection for all the existing pages instantly. Select which areas of the file you want to include in the comparison. We’ll select the graphic area for the Source page. A selection can be resized if required. For future explanations or if you want to learn more about selections, check out the upcoming demos on our channel. When you are ready - press the Compare button to run the comparison! Here you can see the number of deviations found and the settings used for the comparison. You can rerun the comparison with changed settings if you wish. The Deviation View will show you an overview of the current one. Here you can set the deviation’s status, navigate between deviations, and dive deep into every detail. Press the Analyze button for a closer inspection of the deviation. The image switches between the Source and Target area for the deviation. If you want to add a barcode to the report, you just have to follow this steps; The system detects the barcode If you also want to verify the text inside the deviations on the artwork, select a Text setting and press the Rerun button. The boxes around the words indicate the text deviations. Notice the difference when text is taken in consideration! When you have managed each deviation, you can either generate a report or export a copy of the Target file, complete with all the deviations marked up. Here, we have the complete report. The report is compliant with regulated industry requirements. The previously managed deviations are shown in the deviation list, together with the comments.
