In the 4th century before christ the Celts invaded North Ireland and instaured a Gaelic civilization. In 432 Saint patrick introduced cristianity. In the 12th century Ireland was given to Britain by the Pope, but local rule continued to live until the 17th century, when the the english control on Ireland became total. The 1801 was an important year because in this year the Act of Union made Great Britain and Ireland became the “ United Kingodm of Great Britain and Ireland”. From 1846 to 1848 more than 2 milions people to emigrate in North America for the economy decline which was happening in Ireland. The irish people wanted the indipendence and during the first word war the Easter rebellion happened (April 1916). Irish nationalist didn't succed in destroying the british rule and didn't succed in seizeing Dublin.
