I recently had the chance to visit the country of my dreams, South Korea. Which is known for its unique culture and highly developed economy. I flew into the capital Seoul with my partner to attend a 2- day course. On arrival there, I was excited to see the contrast between modern skyscrapers and shopping malls built near the ancient town. Our hosts prepared a tour itinerary for us. It started from Seoul main road where we saw the Royal Palace, which is the president’s residence. It is known as “Blue House”. From there, we had a short walk to the old town, Bukchon, with its fascinating wooden houses and old -fashioned cafes. The next day, we took a trip into the mountains that peak behind the President’s House. From there, we could see the amazing views of Seoul like the city’s great gate and the ancient fortress wall. We wanted to buy some souvenirs. So, we made sure to visit the Shinsegae downtown department store with its two floors where Korean housewives sold traditional handicrafts. Then, we bought some traditional dishes from the street’s old restaurants and sat by the city stream to enjoy eating. I would never forget that memorable scene of the bridge over the stream which runs for about 4 miles through the city. The place was nice and quiet because it is 15 foot below the street level, away from the noise of the city. I wish I could return to this wonderful city one day.
