Following Jackie’s annual review on 17/03/2021, it has been revealed that Jackie’s glasses and TV remote have been missing for over a year. Suppose you could help her find the TV remote so that she can get social stimulation in her room and glasses to use to see appropriately. Also, on the two occasions where her niece Tina visited, Jackie had excrement under fingernails. If the care home can ensure that Jackie’s fingernails/hands are cleaned at any time she uses the toilet, probably keep her fingernails short all the time for easy cleaning. This practice would prevent cross infection and promote her personal hygiene and the hygiene of other service users. In addition, one of the carers told Tina that Jackie is horrible. This comment is unfavourable because all care staff working with people living with dementia are supposed to be professional and trained to understand how these people behave. Therefore, I would appreciate you or other management staff can discuss this with the carer concerned to prevent this type of criticism from happening again.
