The next morning, Elizabeth is surprised by a visit from Darcy. Conversation is awkward, and they struggle to avoid awkward silences. Elizabeth asks Darcy about suddenly departing Netherfield. Darcy suggests that Bingley is not likely to return there because of his connections in London.
