Excelsior is Jamaica's largest community college. We are a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary public institution committed to excellence in everything we do. We strive to have a national and international impact, while fulfilling our social mandate to provide access to higher education and training for the people of Jamaica, and to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of our country. The Covid 19 pandemic has radically altered the social and business environment here and abroad, creating major threats as well as exciting opportunities for colleges and universities globally. Having assessed the situation facing our own institution and the outlook for the immediate future, we believe we have no choice but to re-think, re-imagine and re-focus our operations, if we are to appropriately contend with the dynamic times ahead. As part of this great reset, our committee members, staff, faculty and customers worked collaboratively over the past few months to develop a new mission and vision to guide the college into the future. They also endorsed a set of institutional values which, in conjunction with the new mission and vision statements, form core elements of our strategic plan for 2021 to 2024. These elements will inspire all our activities, and we now present them to you.
