LIONS AGAINST A SEA ........ of PLASTIC. The PLASTIC FREE PROJECT The Sea, a place to preserve nature and biodiversity, is now the perfect example of our contradiction; a helpless suffering place hit by the silent invasion of its worst enemy PLASTIC Try to imagine 33,800 plastic bottles every day all together in the Mediterranean Sea which, together with many other objects make up the 570 thousand tons of plastic that we disperse every year in mare Nostrum, reaching the sad primacy of pouring 10 million tons of plastics into the sea every year. Any daily gesture such as drinking from a plastic bottle repeated by 7 billion people, becomes a big problem for the environment; three siss and an more bottle to dispose of, a concentrate of human stupidity By now we are all accomplices we should be charged in the largest environmental disaster trial in history ...... and we just keep pretending that the problem doesn't concern us Every day, on every kilometer of coastline, more than 5 kg of plastic accumulates and then ends up at sea. The plastic we disperse is so much that we end up eating it! We ingest up to 2,000 tiny fragments a week, about 5 grams, like a credit card. Let us be clear, think of a world without plastic, at least in the near future, of practically impossible. Plastic has changed our lives by simplifying them and allowing development, it is a precious material that over time I have taken value due to the exasperation of the abuse of disposable and the correct management of its end of life. The service project, presented in order to raise public awareness of the problems related to excessive use of plastic and to provide useful ideas to reduce its consumption towards the use of products made of completely recyclable materials. Being PLASTIC FREE is not easy, but each sector can make its own contribution of individuals to the public, keeping in mind a few but fundamental key points. The guidelines of the Plastic free campaign use the four-R rule, reduce, reuse, recycle, recover with simple but effective indications. Eliminate the sale of plastic bottles from distributors and replace the supply with water dispensers on tap connected to the water network, eliminate single-use plastic items such as glasses, teaspoons, straws, plastic palettes, limit the sale of products with excessive packaging, snacks, biscuits, packaged fruit juices, favoring the offer of juices, centrifuges and smoothies of fresh products in mini bars and indoor canteens , promote awareness-raising actions on the importance of reducing plastic pollution among employees, become ambassadors of the plastic free campaign with other public or private.
