Hello, my name is O.G.C. Bandara. I’m a Social and Community Developer. After completes my first degree in Social science from University of Ruhuna Sri Lanka I started my career before 17 years ago from Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka. Now I’m working as a Social Safeguard Manager at Local Government Enhancement Sector Project implemented by Asian Development Bank funds. I have 14 years working experience in foreign funded projects. Especially, I had the opportunity to work on Moragahakanda Development Project, the largest irrigation reservoir project in Sri Lanka in recent times. As the Senior Resettlement Officer there I was able to successfully carry out the heavy task of resettling about 3000 families. His Excellency the President also appreciated the service rendered there. I’m a quick learner and my passion is the continue learning. I have a Master Degree in Sociology from the University of Kelaniya Sri Lanka. In addition to my degrees, I have completed a Computer diploma, a Short course on involuntary land acquisition and resettlement, Training on Global Information System, Training in gender equality, followed a Course on Creative writing etc. Now I’m following Post Graduate Diploma in Professional practice in English at Open University of Sri Lanka. Furthermore, I have twice attended overseas exposure visit and training sessions. 2016 in China and in 2019 at Malaysian Institute of Management in Malaysia. I desire to share my knowledge with others. I am a good presenter and a good trainer. My hobbies are lecturing on art and literature, creative writing and criticism such as poetry and short stories. I am a hard worker and fully field-oriented person. Conducting Social surveys, P.R.A. Programs, Awareness programs, Community consultation are very familiar me. Minimising of Gender discrimination, Women empowerment, is major focus of my profession as well as personal aspiration. I am a person who respects social values and makes the maximum possible contribution to maintain them. I organize and conduct cultural and religious programs and donation programs in personal life as well as in the workplace. I enjoy making friends and wanting to have fun and travel with them. I have a very satisfying family life. I am a loving husband as well as a proud father.
