Overwatch is a sophisticated game that is rated M in Australia which was released in 2016 that covers a wide range of heroes that fight each other in a 6 versus 6 format. Each team consists of 2 tanks 2 damage and 2 supports. Overwatch is a game that has a hero that supports any playstyle for any player no matter how aggressive or passive they want to play. Being Blizzard's first first person shooter Overwatch was surprisingly very enjoyable at launch due to Blizzard's ability to make every hero unique and repeatable as one would never get bored playing one of the 32 heroes. overwatch is also a very enjoyable game due to the fact that you could work with ur friends to complete objectives and even mix and match heroes to combine abilities with different heroes on your team. Overwatch covers a wide variety of game modes that are enjoyable for every player no matter their past experiences. These game modes include Assault, Control, Escort, Hybrid, while capture the flag, deathmatch and elimination are available in the arcade. Overwatch also allows their players to use their creativity and make any game mode they can imagine. Overwatch although at first may seem extremely overwhelming due to the wide variety of maps that are exceptionally intricate where the enemy could attack or defend from many angles but overall the game is very straightforward due to the fact that the controls for each ability are shown at the bottom left of your screen and when the round begins it tells the player what to do. The controls in Overwatch make sense because all the controls are easily accessible. Overwatch’s visuals look very modern compared to other games that use cartoon-like visuals. The maps in the game have very distinct features in the game that look amazing and beautiful. Personally I enjoy the varied effects that appear when a hero uses an ability or an ultimate. The effects that appear when a hero uses an ability can distinguish abilities from others. Overwatch also uses various types of sounds that allow their players to distinguish what abilities or ultimates are being used just like the visuals each ability or ultimate has very distinct audio effects that can tell you what is being used when you hear the certain audio effect. Overwatch also uses footsteps that vary per hero, for example heroes in overwatch that look bigger have louder footsteps compared to heroes that look smaller. Footsteps can also give away an enemies location depending on how close you are to the enemies location. Overwatch is a game that you play over and over again as it consists of you queuing up and loading into a lobby with 11 other players, although the game has varied maps and game modes the game still consists of you fighting together with your team and shooting enemy heroes. Overall Overwatch is an entertaining game that supports almost all players in how they want to play. Overwatch has amazing game visuals that would leave any player in awe despite blizzards first attempt at an FPS. As you have seen i have made Overwatch seem like an exceptional game but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. Blizzard still struggles to balance heroes that are extremely overpowered and make changes to heroes to cater to what their community wants. Due to this Overwatch’s community is quite toxic which changes the games experience quite a bit. As a whole Overwatch is a great game for anyone that loves working in a team and enjoys shooting enemy players. I would rate Overwatch 8 JCs out of 10.
