Jane had to live part of his childhood in his aunt’s house with the reed family, who didn’t treat her really well. She suffered a lot of abuse from both the boy of the family and his aunt, mrs Reed, because she had no other family and had to go live with them. One day she told his doctor what was happening after she could not stand it anymore and when his aunt found out, told the doctor a she was lying and confronted her about it, she decided to fight back, and his aunt got so both angry and scared that she sent her to a charity institution school, telling the director she was a liar. Because of this, at the school, she was emotionally abused by the director and humiliated in front of the class because of the lies that his aun told him that he always said. It was like this for a while, but thanks to a friendly teacher, Mrs Temple, who disagreed with the school’s poor treatment of the kids with bad water and unhealthy food, the director stopped it. Also at the school, she made a really close friend, Hellen, also his first friend ever. Sadly, she died from a typhus that invaded the school and killed half of the kids. But although the deaths, thanks to this illness, the authorities wanted to see why the sickness spread so fast and found out the poor conditions the institution had the children on, and so they forced it to fix them. With now a better life quality, Jane studied there for 8 years and also worked as a teacher there until his friend and ex teacher Mrs Temple left the job. Then he got a job as a governess the Thornfield house with the house keeper, Mrs Fairfax. Short after she started working there, the house owner, Mr Rochester came to live there. Then one night, Jane woke up to a terrifying laugh and smelled smoke. She woke up to see what was happening and saw that the curtains of the bed where Mr Rochester was still sleeping were on fire, and she used a water bucket to save his life. After he woke up and thanked her super kindly, they fell in love but decided not to confess anything to each other yet. Shortly after, Jane found out Rochester was flirting with another girl, mrs Ingram, who some days later Mr Rochester invited to a party at his house where she could see how she was. Mrs Ingram was insanely pretty, but really unkind and selfish. Jane was jealous. Because of that, Jane decided to start looking for a new job and told Mr Rochester that she would leave him soon. Soon after that, she received a letter from the Reed family; it was his aunt. She was really ill and wanted to see her one last time. She promised to e back in a week. When she arrived, she finally could see his now really old aunt. She was still angry with her and although Jane wanted to forgive her, Mrs Reed didn’t want to. She gave Jane a letter that refused to give her when she was a child. The letter said that she still had an uncle alive, and that she told him she died in the typhus spread when in his school. The letter also said that his uncle wanted to leave all his money to her when he died. At the end she stayed there for a month as his aunt died shortly after and his young cousin, the only reed who treated her right, asked her to stay there. When she returned, Mr Rochester asked her to stay in Thornfield. He revealed that he had left Mrs Ingram and that he only hooked up with her to make Jane jealous, and after that, ask her to marry him. Jane said yes. At the wedding, Jane was really happy and they were about to marry but a Mr Mason, who had previously visited Thornfield and Jane knew nothing about, stopped the wedding. He said that he had a document that proved that Mr Rochester was already married. With that, he forced Mr Rochester to reveal that his true wife was Mr Mason’s sister, a lunatic who married years ago but didn’t really love and had been trapped in a hidden room in Thornfield. He also showed the wedding members the room, this wife and revealed that she had tried to kill him more than once. Jane, unable to cope with the situation, decided to leave Mr Rochester and run away from the Thornfield house. Shortly after, she found herself in the middle of a huge storm and went to the first house he found and asked to stay there for the night. The man who lived there, jack, also helped her find a job. The job was at a local school in Morton where they needed more teachers. There was a small cottage next to the school where she could live in exchange of teaching there. Years later, she Mr Rochester came to his mind and decided to visit Thornfield again to see how things were going there, but when she arrived, the house had burnt down. The innkeeper at the inn next to the house told him that Mr Rochester’s crazy wife had burnt down the place, and that he he had gone blind but was still alive. Jane went to see him at a farm in Ferndean and stayed with him for the rest of his life. Mr Rochester also started to slowly recover his sight in one eye shortly after. And that is the story of Jane Eyre.
