During the historical period and the time of William Shakespeare, all narratives, poems, plays, etc were a resemblant to how the key importance of the human race was at that specific time. William Shakespeare has shown us the key importance of human issues and how they are addressed in the lines of :“She loved me for the dangers I had passed, And I loved her that she did pity them. (1.3.)” This quote shows the audience how, when describing how Desdemona came to fall in love with him, Othello speaks these words. Although the other Venetians are surprised that Desdemona might love a man from a different race and history, the reasoning of Othello reveals that, out of mutual admiration and reverence, he and Desdemona fell in love. It mainaly shows the key issue of racism and how it was dealt with back then, from blacks to whites, one culture and religion to another. Apart from the previous quote, William Shakespeare has shown us the key importance of humanitarian issues through the lines: “I know, Iago. Thy honesty and love doth mince this matter. (2.3.)” Othello speaks this quote to Iago after Iago explained to him about Cassio's involvement in a drunken brawl. Othello believes, ironically, that Iago is tactful and tries not to blame Cassio for what happened, though Iago has orchestrated the whole thing to get Cassio into trouble. It shows the great power of betrayal and how the closest of friends could have the knife across your own throat. This is how William Shakespeare has used similar stylistic features in all sorts of narratives, to point out the absolute importance of human issues in the world today and how the people of old had faced and encountered them, throughout different kinds of styles of literature in the book Othello for many audiences to predict.
