Let’s see in detail how, from the data collected through ESGeo, it is possible to create a non-financial report through the collaborative reporting software Sturnis. From the GRI view, already set up for the insurance sector, the user can visualize and manually modify the data collected in ESGeo. Once the file is saved, every change will be automatically imported by the reporting software Sturnis. The data and the information collected by ESGeo are available in the “Data Source” module. This section of Sturnis is adjustable according to the company preferences, but it is initially set up to include information on different depth levels, that can be based alternatively on the NFR or on the voluntary disclosure. Moreover, it is possible to add a library of images, from which to draw to integrate the final report. Sturnis is a collaborative reporting software, therefore, the building-up of the document is based on different contribution areas, that follows the regulatory requirements while remaining customizable, according to the company needs. The work environment is represented by a Word document, composed by different sections, that can be modified by the users through a specific add-in. This add-in allows to add objects in the document from the Sturnis module “Data Source”, such as tables, charts or images. Sturnis allows to include the update in the data collected by ESGeo directly inside the document. In this example, the table property shows the link between the data and the information collected with ESGeo. In this case, by refreshing the table, the fields changed in ESGeo will be automatically update in the document. This feature guarantees the data integrity, from the data source to the publish of the final report. The drafting of the different areas of the document is based on a bottom-up process, where each user can write or update the section of its competence. However, the system can operate also on a top-down approach, where the document formatting is driven by the master document and not by the single sections. Indeed, the user doesn’t have to take care of the formatting of the document, since it is automated.
