The Globochitsa Reservoir creates a dam with a stone-embankment and clay core, which was built about 20 km northwest of Struga on the river Black Drim. The lake was built from 1960 to 1965. The lake is 12 km long with a maximum width of 500 meters, and an average width of 160 meters, a maximum depth of 110 meters and an area of 2.7 square kilometers and accumulates water of 58.4 million cubic meters of water. This reservoir is rich in fish and is a paradise for recreational anglers. Capital specimens of carp weighing more than 20 kilograms are hunted on Lake Globochitsa. Carp are caught on a float with corn, bread and various types of dough prepared by local masters. It is also hunted on a modern carp method with a lead bottom of various types of paints. The lake also has a track for carp fishing competitions where domestic and international competitions are held with a large catch. The reservoir is located on the natural spawning route of the Ohrid eel and large specimens of lead eel are hunted at the bottom with grape worms, leeches and small fish. The reservoir is near the tourist centers Ohrid and Struga and at night you can recreate with carp and eel fishing and enjoy nature and silence outside the city noise.
