"Mladost" or Lake Veles. It is located in the central part of NORTHERN MACEDONIA 8 km northwest of the city of Veles. This accumulation was made in 1962 in the valley of the river Otovitsa, which is a left tributary of the river Vardar, at a height of 274 m, with a length of 1,6 km, width up to 500 m and depth up to 25 m. The surface of the lake is 52 hectares with a volume of 12 million cubic meters of water. The height of the concrete-arch dam is 27 m, and the length of the crown is 73 m. The Mladost Reservoir abounds in a rich fish stock. Lake Veles is the only lake in NORTHERN MACEDONIA where you can catch Pike-perch, it is caught on a float and with lead at the bottom of small fish that abound in the lake.
