Eli did 99% in Cinema 4D but one simple one was done in Blender. First, we grab the 3D model from NASA. Some of the materials need to be fixed depending on the file type you use. Usually, it's just nodes not connected properly. We then rig the model. Make sure when you parent the object together, you keep transformation. Or pieces go flying. The terrain is just a free model from Quixel that looked close enough to mars. We just duplicated it a few times to fill the camera frame. Lastly, for lighting, we added a cube and expanded it, and then gave it a volumetric material with very low density and reddish color. Then we added a sun lamp and played with the brightness. I like to parent the camera to a null object and adjust the position and rotation of the camera that way. We animated the different parts, but that'll be for another video.
